ENSTROM 280 C SHARK: G-GKAT.

This helicopter has now ben sold but gives a good idea of the market and prices

Call Dennis to chat on any aspect of Enstrom Helicopters. He has sold 138 and knows the type well

This is a 1980 280 non-turbo Shark. Total since new 1315 hours . Appearance condition is virtually "as new". Interior upholstery is brand new. This helicopter is offered with a new CAA Public Transport Certificate of Airworthiness. Avionics consist of instrument panel King KY 197 COM, King KT76 TPDR and Skyforce moving map GPS.

This helicopter will make an ideal `first buy' and will be particularly suitable for a training school. It can be confidently expected to give several hundred hours of low cost service. The 280 turbo model, cruises at 80% power 29ins manifold pressure which gives 100 mph and about 12 gallons an hour fuel burn.

That would take you from the centre of London to Birmingham in under an hour on just 10 gallons of fuel!! The Enstrom 280 has a 60lb separate luggage locker that holds two good size suitcases and the type can even be flown trimmed to fly "hands and feet off!" The Enstrom is also the safest single engine piston helicopter you can buy. There has never been an accident fatality in the UK in 30 years of operations.

It's not generally appreciated that the Enstrom Shark helicopter is aerobatic! But it surely is and Dennis would be delighted to demonstrate a few exciting manoeuvres to interested parties. (An Enstrom 280 Shark G-SHGG won the world freestyle aerobatics at RAF Wroughton a few years ago.)

Dennis Kenyon has been flying helicopters since 1972 and will be happy to talk/chat/E mail to anyone interested in the Enstrom or the other corporate helicopters. Just make contact.

Delivery of G-GKAT Immediate Ex Shoreham. A new one (FX model) will cost you £225,000. I'm offering this low hour Enstrom at £64,500 plus UK VAT which includes flying training with Dennis to PPL(H).

Now we have an Enstrom 28F Turbo model: Another helicopter sold by Dennis this year. It's a 1986 machine for £76,500 which included the cost of getting the buyer's helicopter licence.

We also have a five year old Enstrom 280 FX model, still totally as new with only 320 hours "on the clock", price about £130,000.

The 28 model is the utility shape.

Picture opposite shows the luxurious interior of the 280C Shark model. This one has sumptuous lamb's wool upholstery. Notice the chromed controls and leather trim.

HUGHES - McDONNELL DOUGLAS 500C

(Not Dennis again???!)

We always try to keep a Hughes/McDonnell Douglas 500 model in stock. Picture shows a 1974 version made by Culver City based Hughes Helicopters. This is the snubby nose 500C which has the Allison C20, 400 SHP engine. The type will cruise at 70% power giving nearly 150 mph. The lower power C18 engine enjoys the same speed, but can be temperature limited on 'hot and high' days, but as a bonus will use under 20 gallons per hour. This is just about the fastest civilian helicopter in the world. One of these early models will cost you between £160,000 and £190,000 and flies at 150 mph !

The 500C is a five seater, (three front and two in the rear cabin.) It has four blades and is known for its precise handling and high performance. The Ferrari of the air!. The small 27 foot rotor diameter allows operation in quite confined areas. Dennis flew the AH6 military version of this machine in Black Hawk Down. See it for some superb helicopter action.

The 500C18 model pictured was sold earlier this year for £170,000 which included PPL(H) flying training with Dennis. Operating costs are highly variable depending on hours flown, but a good round figure for direct operating costs at 200 hours a year - is £200 an hour.

The later Greg Fosella 'Shark' nose 'E Model' is a little roomier and with five blades and a 420 SHP engine - has a top speed of 175 mph.

The Hughes 500 is Dennis's all time favourite helicopter. Call him and he'll tell you why.

Buyers of new or used helicopters can always specify, (customise) their own upholstery and exterior paint schemes.
